MSED Proficiencies
1. MSEd graduates will be professionals and leaders in their field.
Because of the specific set of abilities focused on in my MSED:IT program, I have been given opportunities in my school district to lead small workshops demonstrating the skills I have learned and how they can be used to benefit the other teachers and students in my district. This has allowed me to become a leader, at least in regards to technology in education, in my school district, and has given me an opportunity to help change my school and my district for the better.
3. MSEd graduates will be reflective practitioners
The ability to connect with other professionals with similar interests in technology through this program and through social media has allowed me to use the insight and knowledge of peers to benefit my own teaching practice. This has also helped me keep up with trends in both educational theory and technological trends in education and broader society. Beyond keeping up to date through social networking, I also speak directly to my students to see how they are using technology outside of class and stay current through peer-reviewed journals and published books on educational technology.
