Using Wikis for Teacher/Student Collaboration
One of the most efficient ways to collaborate asynchronously these days is through a wiki. While my class currently meets face to face, I demonstrate the effectiveness of wikis through various assignments I give them, as highlighted in this video.

Re-creating a Trail of Tears Unit with Web 2.0 Tools
The many free tools available on the Internet provides some amazing opportunities for taking units taught in a more traditional way and giving them new life and relevance in a digital format. Incorporating Web 2.0 tools, which provide an opportunity to encourage student creativity and collaboration, is a great way of doing this.
NETS-T Standard 3: Model Digital Age Work and Learning

Student Blogging
This is a screenshot of a class blog on Kidblog.org that my technology students maintained. One way that blogging makes students better writers and thinkers is that peers, not just teachers, will see their writings and respond to them. This helps students to sharpen their ideas and writings in ways that teacher feedback alone might not be able to.
