What Makes a Good Technology Mission Statement?
For new technologies to be successfully integrated into a classroom, the teacher needs to have a clear vision of why they want to bring a technology into the learning environment, or why they want to use an existing technology in a new way. This video, actually part of a larger learning environment I constructed, focuses on what makes a good technology mission statement for educators.

GnuCash Tutorials
One problem facing my community is a lack of basic accounting skills among the community members; most of the accounting of the local businesses are often outsourced out of the community, even though there is a strong desire to keep the jobs local. However, my school no longer has a Voc-Ed program, which used to teach accounting, and budgets, as always, are tight.
I came across a free open source program called GnuCash that would allow teachers in my district to teach my students how to use a basic accounting program with the hope of building that job skill in the local community and allowing local business jobs to stay local. I created a tutorial for teachers and students alike to learn how to use the program.
Below is one of my tutorial videos; my entire GnuCash tutorial can be found here.

Twitter: Social Networking and Professional Development
Using social networking to connect to other educators, both in reading and creating content, is an important part of contributing to the field of education. I use my Twitter feed both to stay connected to the ideas of other educators and as a platform to share my thoughts on education.
