Online Moodle US History Class
Creating an online class through learning management systems like Moodle, like I did here for one quarter of my US History class, opens up a wide variety of instructional methods, including text, videos and podcasts, and can allow the teacher to create flexible assignments that students can adapt to their preferences. Also, Moodle sites allow for grades to be easily accessed and viewed by students, allowing them to be more responsible for their learning progress.

Podcast Excerpt of Mini Lecture
Converting a traditional face-to-face mini-lecture into a podcast that students can take with them anywhere, or access outside of school from my class website, is one way to adapt a traditional method into a digital one. This is a mini-lecture for my American History class on settlers moving West.

iMovie Instructional Guide
Having a familiarity with digital tools allows me to create specialized lessons and instructional guides, like the one shown here, that are graphics-heavy instead of text heavy, something that can be crucial for students who are struggling readers. This iMovie instructional guide was created for a group of 4-6th graders who were several grades below their reading level. To view in full screen, click on the square in the top right of the screen. To scroll down, click the "Next Page" arrow at the bottom of the document.

Questionpress Online Response System
This is a screenshot of a test I created on questionpress.com, which hosts the test and allows it to be administered and scored online. This, along with the previous Moodle Course screenshots of assignments, shows how I can use digital tools to create formative and summative assessments.
